I built this website not even a week ago and another website recently. I can share that artificial intelligence (AI) is already helping people to create a new site from the domain search, website base design, and even the creation of blog posts. Although I used Go daddy to find and host my domain name I used wix to create the website. I've created a website with wix before called thenomadcoin.com and I enjoyed it compared to the experience of building with wordpress. I'm surprised at how much automation and power that wix offers for the entire experience from design, creating content, selling products, linking the site to domain, & the seo optimization process.
Domain Search
Go Daddy has their default domain search, but also gives you an ai domain search option. In the field you enter your website ideas and it actually does a great job at finding domain names that closely match your idea. I actually used this tool to find and purchase my last 2 website domains: aicreativeacademy.com (this site), & wanderlustfootage.com.
Automated Website Design
I'm used to building sites with Wordpress which has a very basic interface that takes quite a bit of work to upgrade before you can present it to the world. In contrast with Wix once you create the site you are immediately presented with two options. I selected the option for Wix to create the site for me.
Based on the website name it immediately created a customizable site brief. You could click and actually further customize with the help of AI. For example. I could click the theme and have it build a new theme or shuffle the colours.
Below is the base site it created, which I think is very good out of the box without customizations.
AI text to Image
AI text to Image was made popular with mid journey and then brought to the masses with New Bing or Co-pilot by Microsoft. I actually created my website favicon using Adobe's firefly using text to image, but i discovered Wix has their own version of text to image. This could be useful to create images quickly for content on blog posts for example. If you want to learn how to do Generative AI I have an online course covering many platform options.
Ai Assistant for Title & Meta Tags
The AI icon is available to bring up a variety of tools to help you find an SEO friendly title and also to generate the crucial meta description that is so crucial for search engines to help rank your blog post higher.
Summary
As you can see AI has already made the process of creating and maintaining a site a lot easier from domain search to the AI image creator and more. I'm excited to see what is already available as of April 2024 from wix to it's competitors. It is still early days and I only expect more AI features to be released as time goes on. With any luck this blog post and website will soon rank on the first page of google or bing (whichever becomes the dominant search engine in the near future).
