Professional aerial video with the S1000 Spread Wings

While I was putting together a proposal for a video that needed aerial video I took at what the creative technologies company Dji was up to? We have experience with their previous model the popular Dji phantom , but that was designed for the go pro and out of the box the video footage is not quite usable for commercial standards.

Enter the most recent model S1000 spread wings and how appropriately named.

Once I saw the video in this post I dropped everything I was doing to share this post with you. It’s innovations like these that remind how lucky we are to have access to these technologies. The creative possibilities on a 5d Mark 3 with broadcast quality with a helicopter at your command remind me how fun doing this work can be.

Dji has released a professional octocopter that is specifically designed for professional videography and photography, 15 minute flight time, and enough power to carry camera’s as heavy as the Canon 5d mark 3.

The video was just released on January 23 2014 this year so it is still early stages, but the creative possibilities are so exciting we just had to share this with you.

Have you had a chance to test out the S1000 yet?

I’ve since come across some unboxing and test footage videos of the S1000 thanks to Aerial Media Pros.
